• Course description: The course provides the fundamental concepts of English syntax. First, different elements of a sentence in terms of their categories and functions are introduced in order to form the basis for later sentence analysis. Second, each sentence constituent like noun, verb, adjective, prepositional and adverb phrases is examined thoroughly. Third, both simple and complex sentences are put into careful analysis.
